Working in conjunction with Dr. Martin Entz and Joanne Thiessen Martens of the University of Manitoba's Natural Systems Agriculture Lab, we are developing systems to further improve our soil and increase fertility organically.
This is important for two reasons. First, because healthy, rich, fertile soils produce nutritious and nutrient dense food. Second, because sustainable, organic agriculture practices have tremendous potential to mitigate climate change by sequestering (storing) greenhouse gases in the rich and fertile soils.
Together we can rebuild the soil, cool the planet and, in return, eat delicious and nutritious organic food!
Special thanks to Organic Valley and The Agriculture Science Cluster for their generous financial support and partnership in this initiative.
